Grant Application and Report Maps

Supporting Milfoil Management Efforts Through Data-Driven Visuals

Green Goat Maps collaborated with the Upper Saranac Foundation to develop specialized maps for grant applications and reports supporting milfoil management efforts on Upper Saranac Lake and Follensby Clear Pond. These maps provided clear, data-driven visuals to illustrate the scope of invasive species management and the effectiveness of ongoing conservation strategies.

Green Goat Maps was contracted to:

  • Design detailed maps highlighting areas affected by milfoil and the progress of removal efforts.

  • Integrate GIS data to provide accurate representations of lake ecosystems and conservation zones.

  • Ensure the maps met grant application requirements, effectively communicating project impact and needs.

  • Create visualizations tailored for inclusion in grant proposals and post-project reports.

The project resulted in a set of highly detailed maps showcasing milfoil-affected regions, treatment progress, and conservation priorities. These maps were designed for clarity and precision, enhancing the effectiveness of grant applications and reports submitted by the Upper Saranac Foundation.

Challenges of This Project

Accurately representing dynamic aquatic environments in a format suitable for funding proposals was a key challenge. The maps needed to balance scientific accuracy with visual clarity, ensuring they effectively communicated the impact of milfoil management efforts. By leveraging GIS technology and collaborating with conservation experts, Green Goat Maps created precise, data-driven visuals that met grant funding criteria.

Value for Our Client

The grant application and report maps strengthened the Upper Saranac Foundation’s funding proposals by providing clear, data-backed visualizations of milfoil-affected areas and conservation efforts. Their inclusion improved communication with stakeholders, grant reviewers, and environmental agencies, reinforcing the case for continued support and ensuring a more effective, data-driven approach to invasive species management.

These grant application and report maps supported the Upper Saranac Foundation’s mission by strengthening funding proposals with clear, data-backed visualizations. The maps played a crucial role in demonstrating the necessity and effectiveness of milfoil management, ultimately aiding in securing continued financial support for conservation initiatives.

The maps successfully contributed to well-documented grant applications and reports, reinforcing the Upper Saranac Foundation’s case for funding. Their inclusion enhanced communication with stakeholders, grant reviewers, and environmental agencies, ensuring a data-driven approach to invasive species management.
